Marius Jansen van Vuuren is an artist that experiments with interdisciplinary practices and art-making in the public realm.He graduated with a B-tech in Fine Art from the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein in 2009, and has since worked as art educator, artist and art coordinator.

In 2016 he built his first giant sculpture as part of the flagship project of the Free State Art Festival, which led to collaborations with other public artists over the last 3 years on the creation of other giant works, including the world’s largest straw squirrel in Kazakhstan.  

Recently he coordinated the Presidential Public Arts Program (PPAP) which enabled 100 artists to create mural paintings as part of the Presidential Employment Stimulus Plan (PESP).
