Marius Jansen van Vuuren is an artist that experiments with interdisciplinary practices and art-making in the public realm.
Born in Virginia in 1981 he became acquainted with art during his upbringing in Worcester and graduated with a B-tech in Fine Art from the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein in 2009.
In 2016 he built his first giant sculpture as part of the flagship project of the Free State Art Festival, which led to collaborations with other public artists over the last 3 years on the creation of other giant works, including the world’s largest straw squirrel in Kazakhstan.
